zdj1jpgFrom 25-29 October 2021, we celebrated the European Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW) - the largest event in Europe, organised by the European Commission, dedicated to energy efficiency and renewable energy sources. This year's edition was held under the theme: 'Direction 2030: transforming Europe's energy system', and the MULTIPLY project was given a special place on the agenda: it was the topic of one of the EnergyTalks.

 This 5-day event brought together energy policy experts, energy transition leaders, academics and the European community to discuss how decarbonisation, energy efficiency, climate change mitigation policies, among others, as part of the European Green Deal, can help create Europe's future.

The event included:

  • more than 30 live sessions (from plenary sessions to engaging panel discussions during the Policy Conference) covering the topics of energy transition, energy efficiency, decarbonisation, the renovation wave, energy systems or finance;
  • the presentation of the EUSEW awards for European leaders in sustainable energy and RES,
  • European Youth Energy Day, which will bring together people aged 18 to 34 to share their ideas on how to transform Europe into the first climate-neutral continent,
  • networking events - The Networking Village and inspirational Energy Talks, virtual booths and 1:1 video meetings).

One of the Energy Talks sessions mentioned above was dedicated to the
MULTIPLY project. The Energy Talks are 10-minute engaging and interactive presentations, followed by a 10-minute Q&A session with the audience. On Tuesday, 26 October, representatives of the three partner organisations (Deutsche Umwelthilfe e.V., The Climate Alliance Austria and IVL Swedish Environmental Research Institute) spoke about their international experience in developing local energy plans, their goals for reducing CO2 emissions and saving energy, and their peer-to-peer learning programme with project members.

Public authorities, energy agencies, industry associations, companies, civil society organisations and the media have been invited to participate in the conference.zdj2 Speakers represented, among others, the European Parliament and the European Committee of the Regions, as well as leading industry organisations, consumer associations, the public sector and the financial sector, who are involved in transforming the European energy system.
